RADIO STREAM WENT OFFLINE
Hi there. For five years we've been running BlastFM.ch. We started in 2008 with a small web radio. We were playing dub sounds during the day and in the evening we played some house, dub-house and minimal. After five years we thought this is it. We decided to shut down the audio stream, cause we had enough. You can still listen to a variety of mixes in our DJ mix section. We still offer a great joice of album covers in our gallery. And we're heading for some new projects to come...Thanks to everyone who's been with us these past five years. It's been great!
MUSIC WE PLAY
We play the music we like. And this is electronic music. We don't care which hit tops the charts. We think there's no need in playing the same song more than once a day. We play over 3000 songs, just the ones we like. You can easy listen to BlastFM.ch, just click on the LISTEN button in the main window.
MUSIC WE PLAY IN THE MORNING
You can call it chill out or ambient. We call it a mix of dub, downtempo, ambient and some lousy breaks. That's the kind of music we play in the morning (Central European Time) till noon.
MUSIC WE PLAY DURING THE DAY
Round noon we start to get busy and we play some dub house tracks, some breakbeats and some latin stuff. The right music to get you through your afternoon.
MUSIC WE PLAY IN THE EVENING
When we get home from work, time to chill to out ist over. We play now more house, minimal and some ambient house tracks. Not too hard, not to fast, just the right groove to get ready for the night.
MUSIC WE PLAY AT NIGHT
The later the evening, the harder the music. We're not into rotterdam hardcore, but we play more techno, some electro and a lot of tech house. All sorts mixed together. house, tech house, minimal and techno. Hope you enjoy it too.
REGGAE ON SUNDAY
Every Sunday we chill out with a nice plate of sorted reggae tunes. Chill with us and enjoy some roots reggae on BlastFM.ch. Just on Sunday.
HOW IT BEGAN
After collecting records for years and spending hours in bars and clubs around the world, the time has come. In May 2007, BlastFM.ch a brand new web radio, was ready for Blast off.
Here's what you're gonna hear. Enjoy a mix of dub, downtempo, funky breaks, cold sweated house and some minimal at night. We don't rip down CDs to fill up our music library. We just pla the tracks we like. We call it Honky Dub. Hope you guys enjoy it too.
After a couple of months of streaming we decided to schedule our programm after Central European Time. Only about ten percent of our listeners come from America or Asia. In the morning our stream is a bit smoother, from midday on it gets slightly faster and we knock the party in the evening. You can catch some great minimal tunes after 7 pm. BlastFM.ch invites you to chill out on Sunday. On Sunday we play a mix of acid jazz, dub and some thoroughly selected nu jazz tunes.
In December 2010 we reached 18'000 unique listeners/month from 102 different countries. Check the PLAYLIST section to see who's online.
DUB IT UP
BlastFM.ch is based in Bern, Switzerland. Our backdrop is a range of snow-capped mountains. BlastFM.ch is legal. We pay big fees to IFPI and SUISA.
Besides streaming dub music, we offer DJ mixes. You can download a variety of mixes in the DJ-Sets-Selection. There are tunes to help you chill out, step out and lift off. Choose your mix and enjoy it at home or on your iPod. You can find mixes by Kollektiv Turmstrasse or Richard Dorfmeister. Just check out our DJ mix section.
To collect music is one thing. On the other hand we took our vinyl record collection and a digicam. We sorted out the most unique record covers and put them on the only one album cover gallery of electronic music. Check out this gallery and have a look what covers electronic music brought to light. In rock history there are lots of nice pieces like The Rolling Stones Sticky Fingers cover. Here you find some other nice album covers. It goes from Kraftwerk till Chemical Brothers.
BLASTFM.CH GOES INTERNATIONAL
As a web radio playing electronic music all day long into the www. We are already international. But being part of the International Radio Festival is even a bigger step into radio business. We really enjoyed our two live performances at the IRF in Zurich and on it's appearance in London during the Olympics 2012. It was great broadcasting together with radio DJ legends as Tony Prince live in London. To be continued.
Sun, big waves, dub sounds, the ocean, to swim in our river, our boxer Tara, Full House in Poker, football, SCB, Tequila and endless parties after sunrise.
BLASTFM.CH STRIKES BACK
On December 31st 2010 BlastFM.ch was shut down. After four years we decided to stop broadcasting. But. Two guys from Bulgaria founded a group in facebook to save Blastfm.ch. They started a fund raising to collect money. A month later our sponsor Smart Dynamic wanted as well that Blastfm.ch continues. So we had enough money for one more year broadcsting. On February 4th 2011 at 5 pm CET we went online again. First track of the new episode was Cold - Strobe Light Network (Blue Glass RMX). The story continues...
BEST WEB STIES
In 2010 BlastFM.ch has been voted among the 200 best web sites in Switzerland. Although we're a small country, we're proud of it.
BLASTFM.CH NEEDS YOU:
To listen web radio without paying any dime is cool. On the other side we have to pay for bandwith and user rights. If we don't pay this, there won't be any music played on Blastfm.ch. If every of our 18'000 listeners would pay one dollar we would be fine. But, not everybody wants to pay for something that's supposed to be free. That' s why we need you. You can donate right now 10, 20 or 50 bucks. You choose. You can pay by paypal or to our bank. If you want to donate something: go here
